Privacy policy

Forge is made by Josiah Baumeister. Forge has no accounts, advertising, developer analytics or tracking. We do not operate a server that receives your workout, nutrition, photo or Apple Health data.

Records on your devices

Forge stores your profile, goals, training plans, workout history and drafts, templates, notes, effort ratings, nutrition, water, habits, measurements and preferences locally on your devices. Local widgets use a shared app container. The Watch companion keeps session information and pending entries locally and exchanges them with the paired iPhone using Apple's WatchConnectivity.

Apple Health is optional

Only with your permission, the iPhone app reads supported Health information such as heart rate, resting and walking heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep, steps, workouts, VO2 max, active and resting energy, exercise and stand time, body weight, body fat, BMI, respiratory rate and blood oxygen. Forge uses this information on device to display trends and optional training and nutrition estimates. With workout write permission, it can save completed workouts to Apple Health. It does not write calorie samples.

We never send your Apple Health data to a developer server, sell it, share it for advertising or use it to track you. You can deny or revoke permission and keep using Forge's workout and nutrition features. Manage access in Apple Health or your device's privacy settings. Apple controls Health storage and any system synchronization you enable.

Photos and nutrition labels

Progress photos are the Photos library assets you choose. Forge stores local references to those assets for your journal and reads locally available thumbnails. Your Photos library can synchronize through your own Apple settings. Selecting or resetting a photo reference in Forge does not delete the original library asset.

Nutrition-label text is recognized on device using Apple's Vision framework. Review the detected values before saving a food. Forge does not send label images to a food or AI service and does not retain raw label images or OCR text as a separate record.

Purchases

Optional one-time tips support development and unlock no features. Apple processes payments through the App Store. Forge checks transactions on device; we do not receive your payment card details or maintain a remote purchase-history database. Refund requests are handled by Apple.

Backups and exports you choose

You can export a Forge backup or workout CSV and choose where to save or share it. The destination you select then handles that file under its own terms. Photo references in a Forge backup do not include the original photo files. Device and system backups or synchronization are controlled by your Apple settings and can include local app records. We do not provide a developer cloud-sync service.

No tracking or third-party SDKs

Forge includes no third-party SDKs, ads, tracking identifiers or developer usage analytics. Its progress and analytics screens compute your own statistics locally. Apple system services, StoreKit, Photos, Health and operating-system link handling can communicate with Apple under your settings. A claim that the device never makes network requests would be inaccurate.

Delete your information

In Forge, open Settings → Reset All Data → Reset Everything and confirm to remove Forge's local records. Deleting the app rather than offloading it removes its local app data. Remove the companion from Watch if you also want to remove its local records. Reset information can reach a paired Watch when connected; a disconnected Watch can retain its last local state until it reconnects or is removed.

Forge reset or deletion does not delete workouts already saved in Apple Health, original photos in Photos, exported files or copies in system backups. Delete those separately in Health, Photos, the destination where you saved them, or your backup settings. Reinstalling or restoring a system backup may restore earlier data.

This website and support email

These public pages are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. This site includes no analytics scripts, advertising or contact form. Cloudflare can process normal request metadata, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send through the email provider and use it to respond. Do not include Health exports, private photos or other sensitive records unless they are necessary and you choose to share them. To request deletion of support correspondence, email us.

Children and changes

Forge is a general fitness app and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's information through the app. We will update this page and its effective date if our practices change.
